The holidays are such a magical time.
For me, the magic harks back to when i was little
and the snow was fluttering around, our house
smelling of cinnamon, and of course the thought
of santa bringing presents – how could a kid not
get giddy? i’ll admit i still do. each year i can’t
wait to put up and decorate my Christmas tree,
buy presents, and spend much-needed time with
family and good friends.
Besides the big day, the events I really look forward to are my family’s
traditions. We kick off the month of December by gathering together as a
whole family, and I mean everyone – aunts, uncles, cousins, and more –
then we visit friends and carol away. (I love this, even though I can barely
carry a tune.) Then comes our mid-December holiday party. Mmmm, I
can smell my mom’s pumpkin rolls now. Being the only sister, I am on duty
to help get the party started. We gather, exchange small gifts, and eat a
large meal together. It’s the perfect night.
That’s why I am so excited to share some of my holiday party ideas with
you! I like to start off with a classic Christmas color palette and keep the
decorations and invitations clean, as well as VERY budget friendly. More
funds for delicious treats, right?
