As the good name of British banking gets dragged
back and forth through the mud by just about
everyone, Barclays is making an effort to be the good
apple in a bad bunch by providing a free credit
checking service to all small firms. Promoted by a
BHH-conceived TV advert that shows a man battling to
regain his cash, this effort by Barclays to become more
involved in a sector hit hard by the downturn seems to
have succeeded where mainstream data analysis
companies previously failed. Maybe timing is
everything.
