I’ve found I’ve been a bit stubborn of late and Mum keeps telling me
it’s the high-calorie/highly processed food and lack of fresh fruit
and veg. I thought the cress would sort it out but Mum said it doesn’t
make up your five portions.
‘Not even five stems?’
‘Not even ten stems!’
The chilli con carne was doing its job a few weeks ago but now it’s
wholly inadequate and I’m rummaging through the medi-cupboard looking
for a solution, hence the list above. When Challenge Business put
the medical kit list together they were definitely on to something,
otherwise why would there be six different types of constipation
relief? Still, variety is the spice of life!
By the way, Mum insisted I write about this, although I’m
completely happy not to tell you about the inner workings of my
intestines … She knows it will do nothing for my glamorous, feminine
image!
In the cupboard (approximately six feet long, two feet high, tapering
from four to one and a half feet wide!)
Our cupboard is our refuge, our bedroom, our office and very
occasionally our bathroom. I’m going to guide you on virtual tour …
here goes.
The ceiling is painted white and spilt into four panels, one section
is covered in the names of all our Diamond Donors. Unfortunately our
sweaty heads have acted as mops, obliterating many of them; although
they still remain with us in spirit. You’ll probably find ‘Tracy Young
(Berkhamstead)’, amongst others, printed backwards on our scalps. On
the other three panels there’s a mixture of good luck messages from
friends and family and a few pictures I’ve drawn during the journey.
There are other scrawlings but the one I look at before I go to bed is
the bar-gate markings of the days as they go by – eleven weeks so far
and more to come. u
