Historic downtown Denton is vibrant with shopping and eateries just steps from the Denton County Courthouse on the Square, which is one of the state’s most photographed courthouses. Denton is known for its music scene, with many live music venues featuring local singers and bands. The Murchison Performing Arts Center draws orchestras, operas and other performances. The city also hosts the Denton Arts and Jazz Festival each spring. This region is home to one of the largest
collections of horse farms and ranches in the nation. The wilderness corridor of the North Texas Greenbelt offers more than 20 miles of trails and waterways.
