‘ The fi rst to apologize is the bravest. The fi rst to forgive is the strongest. And the fi rst to forget

is the happiest.’ (Unknown)

Practices

In the Lord’s Prayer, we say, “Forgive us our sins, as we forgive those who sin against us.”

Turn to the words of the Lord’s Prayer when your child is faced with relationship confl icts between family and friends. This simple phrase reminds children that we forgive because God fi rst forgave us.

Nevergall lives with her husband and two children in Austin, Texas, where she serves as children’s ministry chair at Triumphant Love Lutheran Church. Her blog is raiseandshine.sqsp.com.
