You have been working for Fox Sports doing television. Is there more TV in your future? I would love to. I had a great time. I did four events for Fox this past year and really loved it. This was my 15th season on the LPGA Tour, so I’m looking to see if there are any other opportunities. I’ve had some injuries and still love playing on Tour, but what I love about working for Fox is that they just cover USGA events. So I would only work six to eight events, and still play quite a bit on the LPGA. It would be a great combo for me. + + +
How do you like television work? The one tournament that was the most fun for me was the Senior Open because I’ve known those guys for so long and also it was in Sacramento (at Del Paso CC), my hometown, which was awe- some. But the U.S. Open was incred-
ible—on the big stage at Chambers Bay. Next year’s U.S. Open is at Oakmont, so a lot of the Open venues we’ve played events on. And I loved the U.S. Women’s

Amateur in Portland, because that is the next generation of LPGA players. I had so much fun that week going to the range and talking to the girls. So for me, it keeps me in golf and allows me the opportunity to not only be around golf fans, but also be around current golf.
Will you have to qualify for the U.S. Women’s Open? Maybe. The Open is one of the tournaments that use the current money list. So if I’m in the top 40, top 50 of the money list by June or so, then I wouldn’t have to qualify.
Last year, you set a course record with 5-under 66 at Galloway (N.J.) National Golf Club to earn medalist status at an Open qualifier. What went right in that round? I hadn’t had to qualify since I was 16, and I just really wanted to play in another Open. I think when you get to certain parts of your career, you realize that there’s something special about being an American and playing in the U.S. Open. The year before the Open was at Pinehurst and I got injured and I had hip surgery. So I wanted to play another Open. + + +
What do you think of CordeValle, and how do you think it will play for the Open? I haven’t played it, but as long as it’s in Northern California, I’m going to love it. For me
The Sacramento native worked for Fox Sports in 2015 at four USGA championships, including the U.S. Open at Chambers Bay.
