GETTING THERE: Flights to Los Cabos International Airport (SJD) depart

daily from Sacramento, San Francisco and San Jose. Both San Francisco and San Jose offer direct flights (lasting about three hours). You can also connect from smaller regional airports such as Fresno and Monterey. TRAVELING TIP: Golf balls cannot be

a carry-on item when leaving Los Cabos. Check them with your clubs/luggage. If you’re the extreme adventurer, and time is not a factor, you can also take the scenic drive to Los Cabos on Transpenin- sular/Mexico 1. During the 1,027-mile, scenic journey (approx. 20 hours) from San Diego, you’ll pass through Loreto and La Paz, the capital of Baja.

GETTING ON: While public play is welcome at Quivira, it’s exclusive to guests

and owners of Pueblo Bonito resorts. Unless you happen to be fortunate

enough to be an owner, you’re going to need somewhere to stay in Los Cabos. There’s four award-winning, all-

inclusive Pueblo Bonito resorts in the Cabo San Lucas area — Pueblo Bonito Los Cabos, Rosé, Sunset Beach and Pacifica. Both the Pueblo Bonito Los Cabos (No. 3

hotel in Mexico, Travel and Leisure 2014) and Pueblo Bonito Rosé (Top 20 Best Resorts in Mexico, Conde Nast Traveler’s Reader’s Choice Awards 2014) are located on the highly popular Medano Beach area on the Sea of Cortez side of town—ideal for swimming. (The waters on the Pacific side are too dangerous.) That means that along with cooling off in the pool, you can also take a dip in the ocean.

Pueblo Bonito Los Cabos is one of four resorts with access to Quivira GC.

Medano Beach is close to downtown and a slew of tasty Mexican restaurants such as Maria Corona, Mi Casa and Los Tres Gallos. Load up on specialties like fundido (Mexican fondue) and mole’ poblano (chicken smothered in a sauce blending spices and chocolate). Both the Pueblo Bonito Sunset

Beach (AAA Four Diamond Award 2014) and Pueblo Bonito Pacifica (AAA Four Diamond Award 2014) are just outside of town next to Quivira. If you’re staying there and want to go into town, shuttles are available. Driving in Los Cabos is just like the U.S.,

with one catch—no one stops at a stop sign. That just means you won’t either. Don’t fret, and just take it slow. That’s what everyone is doing most of the time in Los Cabos anyways.

At the short par-3 13th, you get one last taste of the cliffs.
