ANALYSIS, TEST AND MEASUREMENT

Rx-Series prescription NED measurement system for optical clarity and corrections

Gamma Scientific announced the launch of the Rx-series near-eye display (NED) measurement system at Display Week 2022. The Rx-series is designed to measure optical clarity and image quality for optical corrections, such as astigmatism and nearsightedness (Myopia) in NEDs. These products enable the rapid development and manufacturing of vision-corrected NED devices, covered by multiple US and international patents. As a leader in near-eye display device metrology, Gamma Scientific works closely with industry partners to develop new and seemingly impossible innovative measurement solutions. Dr Kong Loh, CEO of Gamma Scientific, comments: ‘We are confident the Rx-series will help advance the development of smartglasses for consumer adoption and critical industrial

MICROSCOPY

Integrating sphere detector for fast laser power measurement up to 1 kW

Following its recent launch of integrating sphere laser power detector series, Gentec-EO adds another model of fast laser power detectors, the IS50A- 1KW-RSI. The detector has a typical rise time of just 0.2 seconds, which means you get high-accuracy measurements fast compared to other high-power detectors. With its capability to measure up to 1000 W

of continuous power and its 50 mm aperture, the IS50A-1KW-RSI accommodates large and powerful laser beam. It also features an incredibly low noise level of just 0.01 mW. This power detector is ideal for

collimated beams, but will also work perfectly up to 20º divergence (full angle). Simply plug it into a computer with an Integra USB or RS-232 connector and open the free

proprietary software PC-Gentec-EO. www.gentec-eo.com

and medical applications.’

Gamma Scientific, based in California, has delivered measurement solutions for national measurement institutions, manufacturers, and users of light sources, sensors and displays for more than 60 years. Products include E-, W- and Mseries NED-LMD near-eye display measurement devices, high-precision spectroradiometers, calibration light sources, goniophotometers, integrating spheres, thin film measurement systems and LED testers and sorters. The company also operates an ISO 17025, NVLAP accredited laboratory for calibration and testing. https://gamma-sci.com

Polarising beam splitter cubes allow for easy alignment

Laser Components offers several solutions for the separation of s-pol and p-pol light, including thin film polarisers (TFPs) and polarising beam splitter cubes. Cube beam splitters allow for easy alignment and, unlike TFPs, do not incur an offset in the transmitted beam. With beam splitter cubes, single

wavelengths or small wavelength ranges can be split efficiently at a lower cost than alternative solutions. The cube polarisers are usually cemented, and beam splitting occurs at a 90° angle. Laser Components offer both narrow band and broadband versions. Special designs can be offered for high-power laser applications and feature damage thresholds in the J/cm2 range, while offering a high extinction ratio. www.lasercomponents.com

CAMERAS AND IMAGING

Infrared Zoom Camera for precise temperature measurements

Smaller, lighter and without time-consuming lens changes – the ImageIR 6300 Z. The compact zoom camera for precise thermographic temperature measurements is suitable for numerous fields of application. The ImageIR 6300 Z is equipped with an

integrated 7.5x zoom lens as standard and allows fast and stepless adjustment to a wide range of object distances and lens sizes. Furthermore, the zoom camera is radiometrically calibrated over the entire focal length range. The new SWaP camera core consists of a cooled

Alio high-precision microscope focusing stage

Alio Industries has released a high-precision focusing stage, the AI-VC-600-Z-SCB, used in applications such as super resolution microscopy, atomic force microscopy, digital pathology, surface metrology, and industrial manufacturing and inspection applications. This focusing stage provides nanometre-level resolution and fast, millisecond-range response for applications. Alio’s AI-VC-600-Z-SCB provides closed-loop

precision and extremely fast response to achieve sub-atomic resolution, critical in high-resolution

microscopy. The result is higher quality images at a much faster speed. With a 6 mm travel range and a 500g payload, the AI- VC-600-Z-SCB can achieve 4G 100 per cent S-curve peak acceleration (equivalent to 2G trapezoidal acceleration) and 300mm/sec with 5nm resolution and can achieve 1nm resolution by reducing the speed capability to 30mm/sec. https://alioindustries.com

MWIR focal plane array photon detector with innovative XBn (HOT) technology in the format of (640 x 512) IR pixels, designed for demanding requirements and operating in snapshot mode. The XBn detector material with higher

operating temperatures (HOT) of 150 K allows the use of a new linear cooler generation, which is characterised in particular by a substantial smaller design, lower power consumption and long service life. This – in combination with a very small pixel pitch of 10 µm – reduces the dimensions and weight of the ImageIR 6300 Z and significantly extends its maintenance-free service life. The maximum IR frame rate of 180 Hz can

be increased up to 600 Hz with the binning function in high-speed mode. Switching between the two speed modes is done via software and allows precise metrological tracking of fast thermal processes. www.infratec.eu
