there?) to the present day, and the use of audio-visual equipment at conferences, seminars – and as a means of discovering and disseminating science – is commonplace. This issue of Research Information features several articles around the use of video, and it’s clear that the technology is here to stay and will become an ever-more important part of academic publishing in years to come. In fact, hybrid conferences are the subject of one of our three CISPC webcasts this year, details of which can be found on page 10 – the other two webcasts will centre on diversity, equity and inclusion, and sustainable development. Free to view and available on catch-up for the next 12 months, the three webcasts on 29 November, 2 December and 6 December feature an array of panellists from around the industry and are not to be missed. It seems barely believable that this is the last issue of the print magazine for the year – another 12 months that has given many of us new challenges, many of them unwelcome. So, with hope that 2022 brings better tidings for all of us, I wish you all the very best for the holiday season and the new year.
