Infinera reveals 7100 PSX-3S platform to meet growth in metro networks

www.infinera.com

Infinera has expanded its portolio of metro packet-optical solutions with the Infinera 7100 PSX-3S platorm. Te compact, high-density

1 rack unit (1RU) 7100 PSX-3S platorm enables cost-effective access and aggregation of diverse metro traffic types, including high-speed Ethernet and 10Gb/s and 100Gb/s wavelength-division multiplexing (WDM). Driven by growth in metro

networks, network operators continue to demand simple, yet feature-rich solutions that enable them to maximize revenue, while lowering costs. Te 7100 PSX-3S platorm is purpose-built to reduce operational expenses,

while enabling efficient delivery of a wide range of metro-based Carrier Ethernet services, including Business Ethernet, cloud connect, fixed broadband aggregation and 3G/4G mobile backhaul. Te compact platorm

leverages packet switching soſtware capabilities deployed in Tier 1 carrier networks. It can be deployed as a standalone solution, or as part of an integrated offering with the 7100 and mTera metro transport platorms, with end-to-end management and soſtware- defined networking control enabled by the Infinera Transcend Soſtware Suite.

Now available from Sterlite Tech is the FTTx MANTRA (Massive Agile Network Transformation), an end-to-end FTTx-as-a-service solution. Tis is designed to allow swiſt

roll-out of fibre-to-the-point (FTTx) networks at the scale, latency and agility needed to meet future requirements of 5G, Internet of Tings (IoT) applications, for global communication service providers, data centres and citizen networks. FTTx MANTRA brings

together optical-fibre products

with integrated network design, virtualisation, an inclusive approach to hyper-scale network deployment and intelligent soſtware solutions that use analytics and big data. Te company says it has developed this technology to ensure faster and easier fibre infrastructure roll-out to the customers’ end-point. It could assist early adopters in reducing time-to- market of consumer broadband services, as well as capital and operational costs of network deployment.

EKINOPS 600G flexible rate line module available

www.ekinops.com

EKINOPS has launched the PM 400FRS04-SF flexible rate line module. Supporting high-speed coherent line interfaces from 100Gb/s

to 600Gb/s, the PM 400FRS04-SF provides six QSFP28 client ports aggregated to a soſtware selectable line port that automatically configures the modulation format and baud rate to create the optimal transport link. By selecting the bit rate and distance, the PM 400FRS04- SF automatically tunes its performance based on the setings, so it can support any application from very short reach, very high capacity data centre interconnect to long haul and even submarine transport. By delivering higher-rate channels, the module increases fibre

capacity, and because fewer wavelengths need to be managed, it simplifies network operations. Additional flexibility is provided with the module’s support for single fibre transport. Bi-directional operation over a single fibre strand significantly

reduces operational expense by allowing service providers to cut their fibre costs. Alternatively, single fibre operation can also be used to generate additional revenue on dual fibre spans, by allowing each fibre to support different applications, such as metro and long haul, and giving service providers the ability to generate beter ROI from their fibre investment.

with a VIAVI FiberChek Probe Microscope to make the inspection and cleaning process easy. Everything is contained in a strong water-tight and air-tight hardened carry case to keep tools kept safe and clean when out in the field. Each kit features Sticklers CleanClicker fibre optic connector

cleaners, fibre optic splice and connector cleaning fluid, clean wipes, Cleanstixx connector cleaning sticks, as well as the VIAVI FiberChek Probe Microscope all-in-one handheld scope.
