The EISENWARENMESSE - International Hardware Fair Cologne is the largest and certainly the most international trade fair worldwide. The most important
suppliers of the hardware industry from over 50 countries will be presenting their products and services on exhibition space totalling 144,000 square metres. Visitors are expected from more than 120 counties and, for the first time, professional end users are being actively invited to visit the trade fair. The DIY Boulevard After its successful premiere in the year 2016, in 2018 the DIY Boulevard is growing further. Due to high demand it has been extended by 235 metres, but
even so is already fully booked. A host of companies have double booked. In other words, an area on the Boulevard where they can demonstrate their innovations and an area in the exhibition hall where they can present their entire range of products to the trade visitors. Awards Exhibitors are invited to submit their applications for the EISEN Award 2018 up until 18 January 2018. There are two categories – the Innovation Award and
one for CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) Projects. The EISEN 2018 Innovation Award will be awarded to new product developments and further developments being presented at the Fair for the first time.
The winners will stand out in terms of their form/function/appearance (design/ergonomics) as well as through their sustainability and/or economic efficiency compared to former product versions. The Award is presented once each in the categories “Tools, hand tools, power tools and accessories”, “Fasteners and fixings, fittings, furniture and small fittings, safeguarding systems” and “Industrial supplies, workshop and factory equipment, protective equipment” Environmental and social responsibility plays an ever-increasing role in the awareness of the trade dealers and customers. Environmental and social
responsibility are themes that affect everyday life and thus also the hardware industry. In the category CSR, companies that have implemented measures in this area are called upon to present their projects. The applicants have to show commitment or a responsible attitude in at least one of the four fields of activity - workplace, market, environment or society/community. Looking to the future After the successful premiere of the E-Commerce arena in 2016, EISENWARENMESSE - International Hardware Fair Cologne will further develop the theme
into a two-day D-Summit in 2018. In addition to lectures on the theme E-Commerce, among others a special event by Haute Innovation will explain the processes of 3D printing, with the aim of presenting the current state-of-the-art, but also to demonstrate opportunities and ideas for the trade. industry - Industry members called upon to assess the economy Exhibitors and trade visitors are invited to submit their personal assessment of the economic situation and development on the website at
