Manchester seminar review
More than 140 RISCAuthority members attended our Manchester seminar, held at the University of Manchester on 4 July. The event covered a range of issues and concerns topical to the commercial insurance community, including cross laminated timber construction, fire risks from lithium ion batteries, and fire toxicity of building products. The day also covered topics likely to become an increasing area of concern for insurers, including the ongoing IP switchover of the UK telecommunication infrastructure, the emerging world of drones and the growing use of synthetic DNA to combat serious acquisitive crime. now available to download from the RISCAuthority website. We would like to thank all our speakers for their time and effort, and member insurers for coming along and supporting the day. The London seminar is confirmed for Thursday 1 November at One Great George Street, with programme details to be announced over the coming weeks.
Lucia Izod
Members may have noticed a new author for this month’s update – the reason being that Arvi Izod, who has compiled this update
since the turn of the year, is away on maternity leave. I’m delighted to announce that Arvi gave birth to a daughter, Lucia Samantha, on 7 July at the John Radcliffe in Oxford. We wish Arvi and her family all the best, and look forward to her return in spring 2019. In the meantime, members should either
