M450 Vacuum contains it all - dust and liquids
THERE are a range of dust extractors and vacuums on the market, but what about when dealing with dust and liquid spills, or slurry? The Preparation Group, a leading expert in preparing, polishing and cleaning surfaces, has the M450 model in its fleet, a dual-purpose, heavy-duty dry/wet vac.
With the M450 there is no need for two separate vacuums as it is specifically de- signed to eradicate dust, with high levels of dust particle containment, yet is equally effective at dealing with liquids.
It can be switched between the two operations with no compromise to the performance and without the need to change the filter.
Kate Walshaw, Hire Group Manager, said: “Our range of Industrial vacuums for hire includes small single motor models of
1.1.kw up to the 3 motor M450 at 5.5kw and all are highly efficient.
“We also have longopac models for deal- ing with hazardous substances or dust sensitive projects.
Our range is built to last with minimal operating costs, to maximise hire rental opportunities.
Other benefits of the M450
It is powered by three motors which can all be independently used to control suction levels, adding power for tough tasks or conserving energy for lighter duties. Built from high-grade steel, it is virtually maintenance-free and has a large capacity 60-litre bin for less emptying. The supplied ‘M’ Filter is removed with one quick and easy action, you simply untie from the frame and replace. ‘H’ filters are also available from stock for collecting very fine, asbestos containing particle dust.
WEX app set to revolutionise building site removal services
The new app, The Waste Exchange (WEX) is available on both the Apple and Android (Google) platforms. One of the biggest frustrations in the tool and construction sector is ordering a skip and lorry to remove waste, but having to jump through all the barriers to do so. Managing Director at Rye Demolition Ltd, Andrew Hopkins who also spearheaded the app gave an overview of the new platform and how it makes waste removal extremely simple, and which sectors the app is most beneficial to. He said: “I’ve been in the demolition industry for 36 years and one of my biggest frustrations involved the ordering of skips and lorries. “The app is targeted at demolition, groundworkers and builders and everyone

who ever needs a skip. “When we commence a new site in any area, the office has to search and ring around the local firms and hauliers to request rates and availability of waste removal such as concrete. Putting it simply
“A tradesperson can sit in his van using WEX, find a local waste remover during downtime and list all his requirements. While the tradesperson gets on with their work, the waste remover comes to them, saving a lot of time. “The pricing element is based on a credit system, which is £20 per month for unlimited use, or £1 for a single credit. The intention is for regular users to pay the subscription and use it as many times as possible, or for the occasional individual
builder to use it, who only needs 10-15 listings a month or even one or two. Andrew concluded: “It caters for everyone’s needs and requirements. The small building sites or individual tradesperson have a use for skips just as much as the larger construction and demolition companies. “Nowadays everyone seems to be constantly on their mobiles for every activity so it was a natural progression. Enquiries and work should be listed on there too. This brings us round to the intention of the app: it’s designed to meet national coverage of companies and individuals, who list all their waste needs, to removal companies, which creates a ready and constant supply of work in specific areas.”
