I ALWAYS enjoy trade shows hugely. Not only do we get to see all the latest and greatest products and gadgets that the tradespeople of tomorrow will swear they can’t live without, but we can easily talk to a host of people in the industry, which is always illuminating. From taking the temperature on hot topics to hearing the latest rumours to gathering some hilarious anecdotes, nowhere beats a trade show for keeping you in the loop.
This month we attended not one, but two such shows – fi rstly Toolbank’s Great Northern Show in Leeds, and then ‘The’ Tool Show by D&M Tools in Surrey. You can fi nd Peter Brett’s reviews of each on pages 15 and 20 respectively.

It was actually at the fi rst show that Peter fi rst saw the Flex DW45 18.0-EC cordless screwdriver for himself. I can tell he was initially impressed but you can read his considered opinion after having put it through its paces on page 24. Also under the microscope is the SGT90i nailer from Kyocera Senco; read all about that on page 18.
Last but by no means least, he also managed to get his hands on (or ‘in') a selection of Octogrip gloves. Read his fi nal word on those on page 16.
Finally, I would like to advise readers to keep their eyes peeled over the next couple of months – we might just have a few surprises in store for you…
