THE North of England’s number-one end-of-Spring tool trade exhibition, Toolfair was held at the Yorkshire Event Centre (YEC) on June 13 and 14. The exhibition was the place-to-be and the two- day event provided a fantastic chance for SMEs and the public to directly speak to leading manufacturers and suppliers, in order to get the best deals.
The event provided global tool manufacturer Bahco the opportunity to showcase the company’s new value-for-money screwdriver range. The BahcoFit is designed for professional use in all trades.
Also exhibiting were nationwide hire specialists Brandon Hire, which were recently acquired by the VP PLC Group. David Arscott, Brandon Hire National Technical Manager, said: “Brandon Hire supplies the construction industry, while VP Group’s low-level access hire is provided by another sub-sector of the Group, Hire Station.
“We’re always looking to innovate, and Toolfair allows us to present our new products such as the battery-powered disc cutters, which are more effi cient than previously-used heavy duty petrol units.”
Industry fi gureheads Hitachi Power Tools exhibited at Toolfair and featured the company’s latest products, including their innovative Lithium-Ion cordless range.
"Events are crucial to speak with customers" BIG Wipes’ Luke Bailey stands with the company’s colourful range
Hitachi sales rep, Mike Selby said: “We as a company are changing brand in October to become HiKOKI Power Tools.
"These events are crucial to speak with our customers in person about the company’s transitional period, and calm nerves about any warranty queries.
"Basically, any product(s) warranty bought under the Hitachi brand will still apply to the new brand.”
Other industry leaders in attendance were ITW Construction Products, with their well-known Paslode and Spit brands.
Bringing colour and character were Big Wipes who displayed their newly-improved, fully adjustable Wall & Van Bracket - as Big Wipes Sales Executive Luke Bailey further explained.
He said: “We’ve got an established range of products, so Toolfair helps expose how Big Wipes has improved our products. The two-day event also allows other companies and end-users to test the durability of our products for themselves.
