I am delighted to be able to welcome you to a new year, which promises to be an exciting one for the magazine. Taking on the mantle of editor of this well-regarded and reputable magazine is a huge honour and I will certainly be working hard to ensure its high standards are met. Before we dive into the new year, our resident tools expert Peter Brett took a moment from putting cutting edge tools through their paces to look back on some of the biggest industry developments of 2018. In this issue you’ll fi nd his review of the year, as well as the next instalment of his review of Draper’s Storm Force cordless tools – this month he takes a look at the 20v angle grinder and reciprocating saw.
You will also be able to fi nd his verdict on Wiha’s range of handy specialist torque tools. I’m sure no-one will need reminding that the Executive Hire Show 2019 is just around the corner. The show is a key event for the whole UK industry, so we have put together a short preview, showcasing just a handful of the suppliers and equipment that you’ll be able to see there.
