Dickies partners with City of Bristol College to inspire next generation of tradespeople
GLOBAL workwear brand Dickies is partnering City of Bristol College to support students and apprentices who are preparing for a career in a range of vocational and technical trades and professions.
The partnership comes as the tool business and construction sectors prepare to tackle the projected biggest youth skills crisis to date.
As part of a commitment to inspire the next generation of tradespeople, the partnership is aimed at raising ambitions and supporting expectations for students and apprentices, and helping them focus on developing their professional behaviour as they prepare to begin their careers.
Emma Jarman, Vice Principal – Curriculum and Quality, said: “Our partnership with Dickies will enable us to continue developing rich and stimulating learning experiences of our students and apprentices through co-design and co-delivery of our curriculum and engagement with current and highly respected industry practitioners.”

At each location the theory elements of courses are held in a lecture theatre, followed by essential hands-on practical work which is carried out in specially- adapted and fully-equipped training demonstration rooms.
The Makita range is supported with an equally comprehensive range of over 4,500 accessories and consumable products.
The partnership may also include a series of Dickies sponsored talks by inspirational speakers and mentors as well as sponsorship of the college’s student awards, in addition to items of specialist clothing and student induction packs.
