WORLD OF TEST AB DYNAMICS GROUP BUYS INTO
Automotive test specialist, AB Dynamics has acquired advanced simulator developer Ansible Motion, which will now become part of the group’s simulation portfolio supplying products and services to the automotive and motorsport industries. Ansible Motion will sit alongside the newly formed AB Simulation division and rFpro, a simulation software provider acquired in 2019.
Ansible Motion is currently
experiencing significant growth, which is primarily driven by sales in its Delta series dynamic simulator range. The company is forecast to double its turnover in the 2023 financial year, which is underpinned by existing orders and a strong sales pipeline. Ansible Motion’s current
product range includes the Delta series dynamic simulator, the Sigma series static simulator
and the compact, portable Theta series simulator. They are used for the development of a range of ground vehicle applications, including ADAS, autonomy, motorsport, chassis, powertrain, human factors, human-machine interface (HMI), NVH, steering systems and tyres. According to Kia Cammaerts,
technical director of Ansible Motion, the two companies have always shared a common vision to provide superlative tools for automotive product development work. “Ansible Motion will continue
to focus on the development of the world’s most immersive driver-in-the-loop simulation technologies, propelled further by the business and technical expertise of one of the world’s most trusted suppliers of automotive test systems and services,” he concludes.
❱❱ The ZEISS VoluMax 9 titan is a compact scanner for performing high density material inspection such as battery module quality
AUTOMATIC 2.5D AND 3D IC DESIGN- FOR-TEST
NON-DESTRUCTIVE BATTERY MODULE INSPECTION
The compact and robust Zeiss VoluMax 9 Titan computed tomography system enables X-ray scans of large and dense parts such as battery modules. This easy-to-use machine can be used for scanning automotive battery modules for quick and precise quality assurance. While many products on the
market in this class can easily take up an entire room, this 2,750 x 2,350 x 1,750mm system is very compact and fits perfectly in every quality lab or in-line environment, according to Petra Schmidt, head of field of
business X-ray at Zeiss. High power and voltage are needed to penetrate large modules and obtain accurate results in a reasonable cycle time and despite its compact dimensions, the VoluMax 9 Titan generates 1,500W of power and features a 3k detector for high- resolution scans. The wide double sliding doors,
automatic axis positioning and control console integrated into the system cabinet promote ergonomic operation, user safety, and the processing of parts up to 590 x 700mm in size.
4 /// Testing & Test Houses /// October 2022
As demand for smaller, more power efficient and higher performing integrated circuits (IC) continues to challenge the global IC design community, next-generation devices increasingly feature complex 2.5D and 3D architectures that connect dies vertically (3D IC) or side-by-side (2.5D) so that they behave as a single device. However, these approaches
can present significant challenges for IC test, since most legacy IC test practices are based on conventional two-dimensional processes. To address these challenges, Siemens has introduced its Tessent Multi-die software to automate and simplify critical design-for-test (DFT) for highly complex tasks associated with 2.5D and 3D IC designs. Using Tessent Multi-die software, IC design teams can rapidly generate IEEE 1838 compliant
