Wales is the latest nation to join the World Butchers’ Challenge taking place in Sacramento, California in September 2020.

Known as the ‘Olympics of Butchery’ the World Butchers’ Challenge pitches six men and women teams from around the world in a 195-minute marathon breaking down, cutting and making products from a side of beef, a whole lamb, a side of pork and five chickens.
Team captain and former Welsh and World Skills UK Butchery champion Peter Rushforth of Ernest W. Edge and Son, Handbridge, Chester is looking forward to the challenge ahead saying: “The World Butchers’ Challenge has quickly become touted as the one to win. Like any professional, you want to be pushing yourself to get better and this competition offers butchers the chance to pit their skills against the best of the best”.
