New homes development brings extra community facilities to Capel Llanilltern

Residents in Capel Llanilltern are to benefit from new community facilities - thanks to investment from Barratt Homes and David Wilson Homes. The two housebuilders are creating a new community of 263 homes at the Maes y Deri joint development - which also includes 78 affordable properties. And extra investment will bring a number of additional benefits to the area.

“We have worked closely with the local authority to identify how we can contribute to the wider community here,” said sales director Richard Lawson. “As part of our commitment to help further enhance local amenities, we are providing extra funding. “This includes a significant investment of around £260,000 towards community facilities, and a £750,000 contribution for local bus services.

“With such a popular location, it’s not surprising plans for our new development are already prompting a great deal of interest. Add to that our £537,000 donation towards the North West Corridor Improvement, and more than £31,000 for grassland outside of the new development - and we are extremely proud of the work our team is involved in here.”

Situated on the border of St Fagans and Radyr, the development is just a short drive from central Cardiff - with excellent commuter links. Maes y Deri is surrounded by a number of shops, pubs and restaurants, with schools also within easy reach - making it the perfect base for families.
