First-time buyer secures dream home through Help to Buy Wales scheme
A 29-year-old first-time buyer has been able to move out of her parents’ home to her own place, thanks to the Help to Buy Wales scheme. Kirsty Franklin never imagined she would own a home like the three- bedroom detached house she has purchased at Bellway’s Sovereign Chase development at
Jubilee Park in
Rogerstone, Newport. Help to Buy Wales, which was launched in January 2014, has been used to purchase over 6,400 homes since its inception. Te Welsh Government- backed scheme allows buyers to purchase a new-build property with a five per cent deposit and a 75 per cent mortgage. Te remaining 20 per cent is provided in the form of an equity loan which is free for the first five years of home ownership. Kirsty said: “Te Help to Buy scheme meant I was able to purchase the ideal home for myself. Without it I wouldn’t be moving into a three-bedroom detached house, especially at my age. It has meant
bedroom properties available at
Sovereign Chase, with prices starting from £209,995. Kirsty said: “Rogerstone is definitely an ‘up and coming’ place and that really appealed to me. Te development also has brilliant transport links, which is great for someone like me who travels for work.” Kirsty, a Business
