TABERNACLE FARSI MINISTRY I


N January 2017 the Tabernacle began a regular simultaneous translation service and Bible study for Farsi speakers. Dr Massoud, a member of the church who was brought up in Iran and converted from Islam, interprets services and leads the Sunday afternoon Bible study. More than 100 Farsi speakers


have attended services on different occasions so far. Most are from Iran but some are from Afghanistan. Many are asylum seekers who attend for a while before being moved to different parts of the country. Between 15 and 20 attend each


Sunday with a proportion also com- ing to the midweek Bible study, and professing faith in the Lord. Interpreted sermons and the


Farsi Bible study are recorded and uploaded to Telegram (a smartphone app). A new Farsi page of the Tabernacle website has recently been launched with sermons added each week.

(of Providence Baptist Chapel, Cheltenham) and Dr Massoud are involved with the Parsa Trust, a Christian charity which brings reformed theology to Farsi speakers. As well as translating literature, the Trust holds evangelistic conferences in the UK including one at the Tabernacle in May (photos below), and recent meetings in churches in Liverpool and Cardiff.
