MARKET REPORT LIGHTING & HEATING continued
Popular Trime Hybrid
Trime UK reports that it is increasing production of its X-Hybrid lighting tower to meet increasing demand for more environmentally friendly lighting on construction sites, rail projects, highways and outside events.
Arcotherm’s Titanic trio
Arcotherm says that one of the most common heating challenges posed by the construction industry is the requirement to provide high levels of heat and air movement, often to various areas of a site, to speed up heating or drying processes. The company’s Titan heaters are designed for such applications and maintain a thermal efficiency of 96% in the case of the Titan 145M and 185T models, and 96.5% for the 235T. Titan models resemble those in Arcotherm’s popular Jumbo range but have
several differences, the most significant being the incorporation of larger centrifugal fans for increased airflow. The 145M is a single-phase unit with a net output of 138kW, whilst the 185T
is a three-phase model with a 178kW output. The largest in the range is the 235T, a three-phase machine with a net output of 227kW.

Pramac-Generac partners with Trackunit
The machine’s hybrid power supply system
comprises a series of rechargeable batteries backed- up by a small diesel engine. This is designed to give considerable fuel savings and a corresponding reduction in CO2 emissions. In hybrid mode the X-Hybrid gives an uninterrupted
running time of up to 18 hours. The batteries can be recharged in approximately eight to nine hours and diesel consumption can be as little as 0.17 litres per hour, says Trime. The specialist hirer, Illumin8 and the general plant hirer, Murphy Plant, have both recently invested in X-Hybrids.

Pramac-Generac has announced that its Generac Mobile brand has formed a partnership with Trackunit to create a telemetry system that is now available across all its V20 lighting towers and Cube+ models equipped with Generac Mobile’s GTL01 controller. Using a laptop, tablet or smartphone, the Trackunit device allows hirers to monitor
fuel levels and track the location of machines using live GPS data. They can also set alarms to detect when units are moved outside a designated area for improved security across multiple sites. Notifications and daily reports can also be generated to show when servicing is required. Options include the ability for operators to control the engine remotely, which can
help to improve on-site fleet utilisation and fuel consumption. 01270 445777
