on the Exac-One Black Splitter. It was carried on a 302CR fitted with a sealed and pressurised cab. Usefully, given the very hot days experienced this summer, all cab-equipped Next Generation minis have the option of air conditioning.
Mower attachment
Nick Johnson used the cruise control to go bank mowing with a Mini Mower equipped 301.7 CR.
Another Exac-One attachment, an 800mm cutting width Osmar TE80 DXL Mini Mower, was coupled onto a canopy- equipped 301.7 CR mini at Desford. I used it to remove vegetation from a grassy bank to check out the cruise control feature. I positioned the mower on the bank, set it in motion, selected a suitable travel speed and then activated the cruise control button
David Unsworth of Worth Plant Hire was very pleased with the performance of the pre-production 301.5 he tried out.
on the front of the left joystick. The machine could then travel slowly along the bottom of the bank whilst mowing at full power, without me having to hold the controls. As soon as any control on the machine is touched, the cruise control is instantly disengaged.
Before their launch, Finning trialled examples of these Next Generation Cat minis with UK hire companies. Warrington-based Worth Plant Hire runs Cats and its staff were impressed with the power, stability, manoeuvrability and fuel efficiency of a pre- production 301.5. Owner-operators, David Unsworth and Brian Charlesworth, especially liked the machine’s improved LCD monitor and the ability to easily change dig modes and control settings.
