Doosan adds generator option
Doosan Portable Power has introduced a generator option for its portable compressor range. The 8.5kVA generator is designed for users of fusion welding equipment, providing electrical power that can be used for tools, together with compressed air pneumatic equipment. The option is available on two machines,
namely the 7/31+ model, providing a free air delivery of 3.0m3
per minute of compressed air at
7 bar output pressure.

Barrus assists machine development
The Industrial Division of EP Barrus is working with manufacturer, Hart Industrial Tools, to help it develop a noise-compliant, canopied welder generator range under the brand name GearGB. The line-up includes a diesel 200A DC unit powered by a Yanmar L100N engine and equipped with a lifting point, a tool tray and a wheel kit as standard. The alternator has a 90V open circuit welding voltage and an optional remote facility. Barrus, which also distributes Loncin
engines, reports that it has helped develop a specialised plastering machine for supplier, Plasterers 1 Stop Shop - PFT Central. An LC2V90FD twin-cylinder, horizontal 29.5hp model was fitted to a generator to power an M-Tec M330 unit and underwent 75 hours of testing. This configuration also enables an LED light to be run simultaneously for night-time working. Following the testing and subsequent modifications to the specification, PFT Central has ordered 60 machines, which will be supplied by local dealer, Multiplant of Witney.

New Mecc Alte portable alternator
Mecc Alte, which manufactures alternators from 1kVA to 5,000kVA, has launched the S16WHD portable alternator, described as a 'big brother’ to the existing S16 model. In addition, for products operating specifically in the low power hire market, such as
its portable alternator range from 1kVA to 15kVA, the company now offers the option of a heavy-duty, double-footed mount. This spreads any impact loads, such as those caused by dropping/dragging, and is said to increase durability around the bearing support. The bearing housing has a steel sleeve to minimise the effects of excessive vibration caused by some traditional diesel engines, says the manufacturer, whose Italian factory celebrates its 70th anniversary this year.
