The Analysis Forums
Everybody knows somebody
The forums are an important way to share information face to face and to inspire those around you

Almost all of us are hooked up to social media in some way: LinkedIn, Twitter, Facebook, Messenger, and so on. That should mean that we all have lots of
friends or colleagues and that we have all become very good communicators. Maybe that is more of a hope than a reality. However, being a member of one of our
credit or industry forums does mean that you are very much part of very close special groups of credit professionals. You may all have different job titles and
work in different parts of the industry, but we are all colleagues and hopefully in some cases friends. So back to my title: everybody knows somebody. Being part of the credit community –
either face-to-face or via social media – you have the facilities to share experiences, ask questions and keep learning. I once said that credit professionals are like sponges. I was not being derogatory or insulting, but I truly believe my fellow professionals do not want to stop learning. Especially in today’s business climate with Brexit and the challenges
and opportunities that will bring, there is so much to learn and contribute to your businesses. So, who do you know? Are your friends and colleagues working in
the credit profession? Do you and they know what the Forums International forums offer? Can you tell them the benefits? I would like to briefly detail what the forums do offer. Firstly, we
run currently 10 different forums some industry focused and some cross-industry. The key deliverables at the forums include:
l Networking with peers. l Gaining new tools and techniques. l Increasing and enhancing personal skills levels. l Gathering information and intelligence. l Developing new and best practices. lMost importantly, they provide a vehicle to discuss how to succeed in the future. Attendance is for credit and finance professionals of all levels.
We understand that, in a world where everybody is ‘time poor’, taking time out of the office can be seen as a luxury. However, please never be too busy to develop your careers so you are prepared for the challenges ahead.
November 2019 Our forums are not just meetings,
but communities. They do meet regularly; meetings are pre-planned and scheduled a year in advance. We are very active on social media and
have LinkedIn and Facebook groups. Our website has a secure members
area which includes an archive of past presentations and workshops. Also coming very soon, our new Info Hub will allow members to ask each other questions 24/7. CICM CPD points and hours can be earned at all our forums. We are proud to be supported by
pre-approved and contracted major Corporate Partners, such as CCRMagazine, and have access to a range of subject-matter
experts. There is an affordable annual company membership fee (cheaper than training) which covers two attendees. Finally, back again to my title: everybody knows somebody. We
are pleased to confirm that our membership is growing, and we want to retain our members; develop the members we have and attract new ones to the forums. In the new year we are adding a lot of new member benefits. The
key is that you will never be left wondering how to find the answer to your query. More details in December’s CCRMagazine. American President Theodore Roosevelt said: “Whenever you are
asked if you can do a job, tell them, ‘Certainly I can’ – and get busy and find out how to do it.” Credit professionals have a lot to offer businesses. We are not just
back-office debt collectors. Let your passion show through – it is infectious. CCR
