The Analysis Forums

Seasons greetings to you all!

From the team and me at Forums International, we wish you a Merry Christmas and a happy and successful New Year

Laurie Beagle Managing director, Forums International lauriebeagle@forumsinternational.co.uk

When I get to this time of year, I like to reflect on the year gone by and plan for the year ahead. I hope that your year has been successful.

I would sum up 2019 as uncertain and challenging, with Brexit not being finalised and the election on the horizon. When you read this, the election result

may be known. Let us hope it is the right one for the country and will not open another Pandora’s box of uncertainty.

Busy and fulfilling For us at Forums International, it has been a very busy and fulfilling year. We met a lot of people (new members, experts, and industry contacts) as well as maintaining our relationship with our current members and partners. We have all learnt a lot, so a big thank you to all the speakers and

facilitators we have had across the year. I have just counted them and there were 103 speakers in 2019. Some, by popular demand, will be making a comeback next year! One of the topics was networking. Does it work and what are the

benefits? I am a great believer that everybody either knows something I

want to know or had an experience like mine so may have the answer or at least can share what they found out. At our forums we do not operate on a lecture basis where you

sit in rows of seats or round a table where you can only speak to the person either side of you. We, at most of our forum meetings, sit in round-table groups so you can network, share experiences, and do table-top workshops. To answer the original questions. My answer is yes. I have made

thousands of contacts. I now know many credit professionals and subject-matter experts and I have made many friends. Plus, a lot of people now know me.

December 2019

Back to the future Let us go ‘back to the future’. We, as a team, have taken on board all the very valuable feedback we get after each meeting. Put that together with the input from our corporate partners and we believe 2020 is going to be a very exciting year. Forums International will be starting its fifth year with a lot of new ‘fresh’ ideas to help you face the challenges of a new business world. The key message will be: come along to

your first forum and try it and see for free. To give you a sneak preview of some of

the new things we will be launching: there will be new formats, new events, subject days, joint events with the CICM and other partners, new membership opportunities,

monthly webinars, the launch of INFO Hub, and much more. Plus, we will be putting the international back into Forums

International. Please keep reading the CCRMagazine and social media.
