IT sometimes seems that climate protests have spread throughout the country like wildfire this year. While we may debate the methods of the protestors, I’m sure we can all admire their passion and get behind the justice of their cause.
It may feel as though all environmental news is bad these days and it’s easy to feel overwhelmed. But the process of researching our wood waste feature gave me a precious glimmer of hope. Economic incentives, legislation and, most importantly, public will can lead to dramatic results in impressively short timespans. We are currently sending a mere fraction of the UK’s annual waste wood to landfill that we did even a decade ago.
