SKIPS
INDUSTRO Solutions’ 10-tonne skip fabrication project
INDUSTRO Solutions is supporting recycling activity at Redcar Bulk Terminal with the fabrication and delivery of a 10-tonne dockside materials collection skip.
The steel skip, which was designed and fabricated at INDUSTRO’s facility in Middlesbrough, will help transfer waste metals onto docked vessels for shipping to recycling facilities.
Measuring six metres in length and five metres wide, the skip has the capacity to hold approximately 30 tonnes of scrap metal at any one time. It is filled by tipper trucks working on the site and lifted by a rail mounted gantry crane for the materials to be loaded onto the vessels.
Delivered by INDUSTRO’s team of experienced engineers, the skip took six weeks to design, fabricate and commission. It was transported to Redcar Bulk Terminal via road in two sections before being welded together on site
and undergoing a week of testing prior to being brought into service.
The skip was officially
commissioned on a visit to Redcar Bulk Terminal by Tees Valley Mayor Ben Houchen.
This is the latest project completed by INDUSTRO Solutions, which was founded three years ago by
directors John Betts and Joanne Bell.
John Betts, managing director of INDUSTRO Solutions, said: “Delivering this project in a short timescale is testament to our skilled workforce, which has a
wealth of experience that has been instrumental in the rapid growth of the business. We are extremely proud to work with Redcar Bulk Terminal, which is an iconic Teesside business that plays an important role in the industrial economy of the region.”
Export sales reach new heights for Egbert Taylor
EGBERT Taylor, the Worcester-based container manufacturer, has announced that 2019 has been its biggest year for international trade since its export programme launched in 2012 after securing export revenue of almost £5m.
The growth comes as the manufacturer, which produces all containers using British-sourced materials at its Oak Park site, continues to win new contracts from new territories and receive reissued tenders from existing customers in Kuwait and Malaysia.
September alone saw Egbert Taylor complete an order for 7,000 Taylor Continental 1,100L containers from customers in Kuwait, which have committed to a further 10,000 units in 2020, and an order for 2,200 containers from a customer in Malaysia, which made the decision to change to Taylor Bins seven years ago.

Matthew Young, export manager at Egbert Taylor, commented: “This is a significant moment for the business, not just because of the fact that we’ve had our best ever year for export, but because we’re securing repeat business from international customers who have used our containers for seven years and are coming back to us on the basis that the quality of our products is second to none.”
SWM Environment Sdn Bhd (SWM), an integrated waste management and public cleansing service provider in southern Malaysia, is one of the
international firms to buy Taylor bins for their quality.
Other significant international wins for Egbert Taylor this year include orders from Peru, Sri Lanka and India.
