Forbo’s flooring installation enhances university library Glasgow Caledonian University selected Forbo Flooring Systems’ Marmoleum Modular for a unique yet functional flooring installation in its library that was designed by the artist Toby Paterson

Marmoleum is Forbo's flagship linoleum brand and is a natural floor covering associated with sustainability, durability, high quality and innovative design. It is made from 97% natural raw materials, of which 72% is rapidly renewable and has a 43% recycled content.

Forbo’s new Allura Flex in giant oak planks were installed in the staff’s social space.

A university spokesperson said: “Students really enjoy the new space as it is now a relaxing place to eat, socialise and study.”

Knauf AMF delivers Class A acoustics to school interiors Alyth Primary in Perthshire has undergone an £8.9 million transformation to unite the nursery, primary and community areas and create a protected external learning space. To ensure this ambitious layout works acoustically, Heradesign® and Thermatex® ceilings from Knauf AMF are installed throughout to achieve the standards required by BB93 Acoustic Design of Schools.

Says JM Architects Associate Craig Tait, who specified Heradesign®: “We were initially attracted to the natural appearance of Heradesign® and the relationship it has with the timber linings elsewhere in the design. Its neutral colour adds a feeling of warmth to the interiors of the school.”

The A. Proctor Group seals it for St Mary Magdalene The construction of the £45 million St Mary Magdalene C of E School on the Greenwich Peninsula in London is set to benefit from first-grade airtightness performance thanks to the installation of the Frametite air barrier system from the A. Proctor Group.

Subcontractor Bellwood Interiors required a high-quality air tightness membrane and chose the Frametite System as an external air barrier and alternative to a traditional standard breather membrane with EDPM for the steel detailing. Bellwood said: “We’ve been delighted with the Frametite System and with the self-adhesive Wraptite membrane which has proven really easy to use, robust and has speeded up the installation process.”
