ALLIFORD Try has won two new contracts to assist Northumberland County Council’s expansion
as part of the Council’s re-organisation. At Darras Hall, a new two-form entry
primary school building is being created to supplement the local primary school’s existing buildings, allowing it to add the extra two cohorts of pupils to its roll, in a £5.8 million project. The new school building will be complete ready for the start of the new academic year in September 2018. Cliff Wheatley, Managing Director of
Galliford Try North East and Yorkshire, said: “The outstanding success of the North East PSBP means that Northumberland Council knows we are a partner they can count on to deliver and we look forward to working with them to provide the high-quality new buildings that local children deserve.”

“a hugely significant project” for Ashford. A cornerstone of the drive to regenerate the town centre, it adds momentum to nearly £700m worth of investment in the area’s retail, education, leisure, commercial, residential and transport sectors. Modern teaching facilities at the 7,135
sqm campus include a multi-media learning resource centre, live music production, photography and fine arts studios, teaching kitchens and a hair and beauty salon, as well as an independent living facility. Phases 1a and 2 will further add a sustainable technologies block providing engineering, plumbing, electrical facilities, motor sport workshops, and facilities for higher education students. The college, part of the Hadlow Group,
harnesses strong links with over 1,500 local employers and businesses, supporting improved educational provision within the borough and enhancing the local skills base, supporting future economic growth and prosperity for residents and businesses. Paul Hannan, Hadlow Group Principal
