brought to life with hopscotch, sundials, the ABC, numbers from 1 to 9, making it a place for children to learn as they play. Ebema – Stone & Style also offers a
range of fencing. The Publifor is an extra sturdy fence, which can be quickly installed and moved ensuring that any playground is made safe and sound in no time at all. It is also a good solution for creating a secure bike storage area. As the range uses permeable tiles,

Door damage minimised with new door closer
D
OOR closer breakages can be reduced with the new Cam-Action range from HOPPE (UK).
The Cam-Action range features a
surface mounted slide track that puts the closer at less risk of vandalism or accidental breakage, a common problem with projecting arm sets. Projecting arm sets, also known as ‘scissor arms’, are often pulled on, causing the arm to disengage and stopping the door closing properly into the frame and creating a major fire hazard. It is also important that both
accessibility and fire regulations are taken in to consideration when specifying and choosing any door or window hardware. Door closers, in particular, have a key role to play when it comes to keeping students and staff safe in the event of a fire. The Cam-Action closer also assist in
allowing doors to be operated with ease, meeting the accessibility recommendations of BS8300 and Approved Document M. It has been tested to BS EN 1634 Part 1, is suitable for use on 30, 60 and 120 minute timber fire doors and meets the fire safety requirements of Approved Document B.

educationdab.co.uk Andy Matthews, head of sales for
HOPPE (UK) said: “Door closers have a vital role in keeping buildings secure and safe, especially when it comes to a fire, but their importance is often overlooked. The new Cam-Action series caters for the majority of power sizes and is a popular choice for many schools due to its high efficiency and sleek, discreet finish.” Steve Jukes, managing director at
specialist architectural ironmonger CBS (Midlands), said: “We recently specified and supplied
some HOPPE Cam-Action closers for a new, 42 bed student dwelling at Hartpury College in Gloucester. “We chose this closer because it had
the ‘cushion limit stay’ feature, something the college site manager had requested. This feature is particularly important in high-use buildings as the door closer may be subject to excessive, robust use. The limit stay has an adjustable mechanism that adds control to the closer. It slows the door down when opened at fast pace to prevent the door from swinging back into the wall and causing any damage.”
