Gildan welcomes HanesBrands in merger G


ildan Activewear and HanesBrands have entered into a definitive merger agreement which will see Gildan acquire HanesBrands. The merger will see the two companies create a global basic apparel leader, with access to iconic innerwear brands and a further strengthened low-cost vertically integrated manufacturing network.


Glenn J. Chamandy, president and chief executive officer of Gildan, said: “Today is a historic moment in Gildan’s journey as we look to join forces with HanesBrands.


“With this transaction, our revenues will double and we achieve a scale that


distinctly sets us apart. The combination with HanesBrands strengthens our positioning with an opportunity to expand the heritage ‘Hanes’ brand presence in activewear across channels, while enhancing Gildan’s retail reach for its portfolio of brands. The high-performance printer features a unique space-saving design with front-loading media design capable of printing up to 90cm (35.4in) wide, with an automated maintenance system and a fabric print head wiper cleaning system. Having pioneered the introduction of DTF to the UK market back in 2021, this additional option complements the existing DTF portfolio currently supplied and supported by TheMagicTouch, ensuring both existing and new customers opt for the right solution to meet the current and future expectations. The new DTF printer has many notable features including a PrecisionCore Micro TFP print head with Nozzle Verification Technology (exclusive to Epson) helps to minimise downtime in production, together with large-capacity sealed-ink-pack system featuring new UltraChrome DF inks for vibrant colours and bright white.
