Oki Europe announces new leadership team O


ki Europe has announced a series of new senior appointments as the company adapts to changing market needs.


Marzio Gobbato has been appointed as Oki Europeʼs new deputy managing director, reporting to Dennie Kawahara, who continues as managing director. Mr Gabbato brings his in-depth knowledge of the print industry to his new role, having held a series of senior positions within the print industry including Samsung and HP, and most recently regional vice president for Oki Europeʼs South Region. He will ensure that Okiʼs sales and marketing across the region is fully aligned with the companyʼs global strategy. Chiharu Asai, formerly marketing director, becomes vice president corporate planning. Her key objectives will be to ensure Oki continues to build a company of strong, motivated staff, and creating a healthy, pro-active and stable work environment.

planning, Sasumu Miura is appointed vice president operations and will oversee important tasks that require special attention by the business as well as IT and customer services.


Koichiro Fukano, previously vice president, operations for Oki Europe, is appointed vice president marketing and supply chain management, reporting to Mr Gobbato. His primary responsibility will be managing Okiʼs day-to-day marketing operations across the EMEA region, keeping in line with the organisationʼs strategies and goals. Shu Watanbe is appointed vice president industry print, from his previous role as head of Wide Format Business Unit. Reporting to Mr Gabbato, he will focus on achieving he business targets for the industry print division, including revenue and profit and driving sales and marketing initiatives to help achieve this. Mr Kawahara, managing director for Oki Europe, said: “Modern business tactics and trends require a new approach and way of thinking and Oki Europeʼs new

In her new role, Ms Fells will be tasked with developing existing accounts and introducing The Outdoors Companyʼs many high-end brands from the retail market to those prospects who may not have been previously aware of their wholesale availability in the industry. With over 20 yearsʼ


experience working with both suppliers and distributors, Ms Fells brings a wealth of expertise to the company. She has worked with BTC activewear, identifying growth opportunities, and most recently with PenCarrie.

ign & Digital UK is returning to Birminghamʼs NEC from April 28 to 30 with an all new show in a new hall. Delivered by new event director Jenny Matthew, working alongside Rudi Blackett as key account director and a new marketing team, SDUK 2020 promises visitors and exhibitors a fresh show with a new website, new layout, new features and new stand options. One brand new feature for 2020 is TextileTech, a new learning zone focused on the expanding growth market of textile print and finishing. It will feature applications and demonstrations, skills workshops, industry speakers, marketing leading specialist exhibitors and a textile trail. There will also be two brand new areas introduced at the 2020 show. First is Sign Making Essentials, a zone dedicated to showcasing the essential equipment and tools for signmaking, featuring specialist suppliers of fixings, fittings, tools, squeegees, cutters and much more. Second is the Applications Gallery, where visitors can see a wide range of materials and substrates being used in a variety of creative application settings.


Industry presentations, seminars and live demonstrations will grow further for 2020, to enable visitors to build their skills and knowledge and support innovation all year round, with many new features being revealed in the lead up to the show.
