The Embroidery Column In need of inspiration?

e recently started


a co-operation agreement with Kim Thane who has


her own embroidery business. Kim lives in Cornwall and has always been a fabulous artist. She then started sewing as a hobby which led her to buy a Brother PR single head embroidery machine. Kim is self-taught and even though she has only been embroidering for about a year, she has built up her knowledge to such an extent that she now has over 2,000 subscribers to her YouTube channel.


Ideal opportunity


ETC Supplies first came across Kim as a customer when she purchased some threads and Mighty Hoops. Kim was so impressed with the Mighty Hoops that she wanted to show these to her YouTube subscribers.

We are delighted to be partnering with Kim Thane. It’s an ideal opportunity to work with someone who tells it like it is from the customers’ perspective. As Europe’s main distributor of Mighty Hoops products, we were able to provide Kim with a whole Mighty Hoop Kit and extra parts through Mighty Hoop USA. Kim has been demonstrating the benefits of using this product as an end user through her YouTube channel. The reaction from her subscribers has so far been fantastic.


After the success of the Mighty Hoops demonstration, we asked if she would be interested in demonstrating and evaluating other products. Kim agreed and now has a full range of embroidery backings. Kim is planning on testing these backings as we go to press through live streaming to her subscribers.


We have every confidence in our embroidery backings and I think both Kim and her subscribers will find these to be good quality and well-priced products. Kim will be evaluating many more products over the coming weeks so be sure to tune in.


Invaluable hints


Not only does Kim review products, but she also provides plenty of invaluable hints and tips on her channel. Topics such as how to appliqué embroidery tutorials and embroidering onto beanies are just some of the interesting videos you can watch. Kim has also just entered into a similar association with the leading garment supplier brand Uneek Clothing. She will show how best to embroider these garments and show off the huge range available from Uneek Clothing. Head over to YouTube and search for Kim Thane for inspiration.
