Sandbox VR sets sights on further European expansion

andbox VR is stepping up its focus on Europe as a key growth market, following a series of recent venue launches across the region. The company has now opened a site in Vienna, Austria, taking its
European estate to 19 venues across six countries. Globally, Sandbox VR operates more than 70 locations since launching in 2016. The business is currently active in Germany, England, Ireland, Switzerland,
Italy and Austria. Much of the European rollout is being driven by Next Level partner worldwide. "Europe is one of the most strategically important global markets for
Sandbox VR," said Steve Zhao, CEO of Sandbox VR. "The momentum we are seeing here reinforces our decision to significantly scale our European footprint together with strong partners like Next Level Erlebnisse and Royal Casino DGS." Sandbox VR continues to build its offering around original content tied to
major entertainment brands, including Stranger Things: Catalyst and Squid Game Virtuals. Torsten Schneider, CEO of Next Level Erlebnisse, said the region offers
strong potential for concepts that combine entertainment with education. "Europe is ideally positioned for high-quality learning and family
entertainment concepts," said Torsten Schneider, CEO of Next Level Erlebnisse. "With formats like Age of Dinosaurs, we are expanding Sandbox VR beyond pure entertainment and strengthening the long-term relevance of our European locations."
Australia’s first Dave & Buster’s confirms April opening in Perth
open its first Australian venue in April, bringing the US restaurant and arcade chain to Perth. The new site will be located in Clarkson, in the and will cover more than
2,000 square metres. Alongside a large redemption arcade and prize area, the venue will feature a 40-foot sports screen and more than 30 ultra-HD displays showing live sport.
The Perth location will be operated by NightOwl Entertainment. It is the first venue to open under a five-site agreement signed in June 2023, with the Malpani Group.
NightOwl Entertainment, which operates other hospitality and entertainment concepts including the social darts brand Flight Club, is offering local residents the chance to attend a preview event through an online competition.
