Liam Findlay – CEO, Miral Destinations
Matt: Can you tell us a little about your industry background before coming to Miral Destinations? Liam: Of course. I have spent more than two decades leading sales and marketing functions across the hospitality and attractions sector. I moved to the UAE in 2010 to join Atlantis The Palm as Vice President of Marketing, where I oversaw brand strategy, global campaigns, and commercial growth. Before that, I held senior roles in Singapore and Australia. Today at Miral Destinations, I lead the integrated sales, marketing, and
communications for Yas Island, with a core focus on driving visitor growth, strengthening our global presence, and building demand across key markets.
Matt: What led to your appointment at Miral Destinations? Liam: especially when it comes to providing guests with world class experiences. By the time the opportunity arose, I had close to two decades of regional and international experience, and joining Miral Destinations as Vice President of class leisure and entertainment destination. The scale of the ambition, the pace of growth, and the chance to help shape the visitor strategy for such a significant destination made the decision an easy one.
Matt: Liam: As CEO of Miral Destinations, I am responsible for shaping and executing our tourism and marketing strategy across local and regional markets in the UAE and GCC, as well as internationally in key leisure and business markets such as India, the UK, and China. This mandate covers Yas Island and including teamLab Phenomena Abu Dhabi, and Qasr Al Watan.
Matt: What is the overall mission goal that drives your work at Miral Destinations? Liam: Our mission is to make Yas Island globally renowned, to position it featuring Kevin Hart, Jason Momoa, Ryan Reynolds, and now Millie Bobby Brown, alongside a commercially driven sales strategy that grows demand, expands distribution, and strengthens global partnerships. At the same time, we remain focused on delivering exceptional guest experiences on the island,
Matt: Liam: Miral Destinations, a subsidiary of Miral, is a leading destination partner dedicated to creating memorable shared experiences through the landscape. It elevates its portfolio of destinations by shaping their story, building strategic partnerships, and connecting audiences with unique experiences. Circuit. Additional cultural and wildlife destinations like team Lab Phenomena Abu Dhabi, an immersive art museum, Qasr Al Watan, a landmark cultural institution housed within the Presidential Palace in Abu Dhabi.
