Connecting with colleagues
Finding the right CPD from the vast array of resources available is an important part of your professional development journey. Equally, connecting with like-minded professionals is important, enabling you to share your learnings and best practice. Many parts of the ETF’s offer – including in-person courses, events and networks – include opportunities to meet with colleagues across the sector and share experiences and advice.
In addition, the Society for Education and Training (SET) – the ETF’s professional body for teachers, trainers, and leaders within the FE and skills sector – offers a community of practitioners and membership benefits to support you at every step of your professional development. SET is your career partner, supporting you from studying for your Initial Teacher Education (ITE) through to becoming an advanced practitioner and beyond.
Embracing your next steps A

So, where do you start? The right CPD for you

It’s vital to find the CPD courses and resources that are right for you, so that you make the most of any time you’ve put aside. Focus on what your key aims are and what you want to achieve. Are you looking for support in delivering a particular qualification, such as T Levels or apprenticeships? Are you searching for CPD that will help you embed core skills in your practice, such as English and maths? Maybe you’re an aspiring leader looking for CPD to support your next steps, or an experienced leader or governor keen to develop your skills further?
