Ahead by Bett
Ahead by Bett, the destination for Higher Education professionals, is set to triple in size for 2024. With an amazing lineup of speakers and features dedicated to peer discussion, we’ll be looking at large-scale transformation, new pedagogies for an evolving student experience and real-world case studies in Higher and Further Education institutions.
Incredibly immersive content When we ask people why they come to Bett, one of the top responses is always ‘content’. With 120+ hours of carefully curated and highly sought-after content across seven theatres, here are some of the sessions you can expect at the show…
Keynote speakers at a glance Kickstart your Bett UK experience with awe and innovation! The Arena is the place to be on 24 January with documentary presenter extraordinaire, Louis Theroux, who will take to the stage to interview a VERY special guest. Continuing the Arena, renowned sociologist best known for his research on race and inequality in education - Jason Arday. His appointment as Professor of Sociology of Education at the University of Cambridge this year made him the youngest Black person ever appointed to a Professorial Chair and one of the youngest to be appointed to a full Professorship in Oxbridge’s history.
Hear from the incredible voice of youth - Namya Joshi. An inspiring 16-year-old Minecraft Student Ambassador at Microsoft. Living life by her own motto #EachOneTeachTen, has helped more than 15,000 educators and young people teach and learn through tech.
The topic on everyone’s agenda, Artificial Intelligence! We’re welcoming back Dan Fitzpatrick whose 2023 talk was bursting with insights. Author of the acclaimed book, The Al
Classroom, Dan imparts invaluable insights and strategies for harnessing Al in education. We’ll also be hearing from primary school teacher Lee Parkinson, whose popular training has earned him the moniker Mr P ICT.
Last but certainly not least, we have a few names that you may recognise. Dame Darcey Bussell talks about how movement is the key to health and well-being. Former Lioness turned popular sports pundit, Alex Scott, takes to the stage for a fireside chat. These, of course, are only a few of the incredible names attending Bett 2024, explore the agenda to plan your visit.
You asked, we answered!
After every event, we conduct extensive research to review what topics and speakers worked best and what attendees wish to see at the next show. Here’s what you said…
Top of the list, unsurprisingly, is CPD. With all of our content sessions carefully crafted around the needs our audiences, you’ll find the right growth opportunities at the show. Next up was Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) and a greater focus on inclusive education and neurodiversity - this will be a key theme of the show.
Top among our Higher Education audiences is Generative Artificial Intelligence. We’ll be taking a
deep dive into the amazing potential of AI when used responsibly, as well as practical guidance for implementing it within the classroom. We will also be looking at the need for school policy and guidance at international, national, district, institution and school levels.
In all realms of education, leadership and skills are key. From leaders in EdTech to the pioneers who’ve introduced game-changing technologies, processes, practices and policies into schools, we’ll be celebrating their impact on learning outcomes at the show. For skills, we’ll be helping teachers with everything they need to effectively integrate technology into the classroom and enhance the learning experience for students.
In proud partnership
With HP, our Diversity & Inclusion partner, we’ll be looking at how we can achieve a truly inclusive and representative school community and learning experience, taking into account different learning pathways and experiences. Supported by our Innovation partner Intel, we’ll be looking at how teaching and learning can adapt to the changing needs of learners, leveraging the power of technology and achieving better educational outcomes for all. On Sustainability, we have partnered with Lenovo to look at environmentally, economically and socially responsible EdTech that meets the needs of the present without compromising those of future generations.
