Doodle Learning Launches ‘Winter Calendar’ Festive Countdown
Part of the Discovery Education family of solutions, the Doodle apps use the latest edtech advances to reward learning and boost children’s confidence. Designed by teachers and fully curriculum aligned, the apps are filled with interactive exercises that help children to have fun with learning and build skills for the classroom and beyond.
Between the 1st December and 24th December, children can unlock the doors on their DoodleMaths and/or DoodleEnglish Calendar by completing at least one exercise a day and collecting stars. Children who open all of the doors on one or both calendars will receive an extra special reward to celebrate their hard work — a virtual Winter Calendar badge!
To get started, Doodle subscribers simply need to log in to DoodleMaths or DoodleEnglish on the 1st December and complete an exercise. The last day for unlocking doors is the 6th January 2024.

DEANESTOR AWARDED £3M CONTRACT TO FIT OUT ONE OF THE UK’S FIRST PASSIVHAUS SECONDARY SCHOOLS

We have successfully delivered a number of projects for Perth & Kinross Council and have a strong track record in fitting out Passivhaus schools. eanestor, one of the UK’s leading school fitout specialists, has been awarded another major contract in the education sector – a project worth over £3m to fit out the new 1,600-place Perth High School for Robertson Construction.
The school is one of the first secondary schools in the UK to be built to Passivhaus standards..
This will be Deanestor’s 14th contract for Robertson and it follows its successful completion of a number of award-winning school projects which includes Bertha Park High School, also for Perth & Kinross Council. Designed by NORR and delivered by hub East Central Scotland, the new Perth High School is being built adjacent to the existing 1960s school, which will then be demolished. It represents an investment of £80m for Perth & Kinross Council and the Scottish Government Learning Estates Investment Programme.
Deanestor will be fitting out 274 rooms across the new campus and will manufacture or procure more than 2,700 items of fitted and loose furniture, including storage solutions, changing benches, teaching kitchen, learning walls, tables and chairs, equipment for sports and arts, workbenches and tools for technology and engineering. Brian McQuade, COO of Robertson Group, said, “Not only will this be a high-quality building, but it will support and enhance the experience of learners utilising a ‘fabric first’ and heat recovery approach in its construction that will deliver against the low carbon agenda.” Gary Bushnell, Chief Executive of hub East Central Scotland, added “We have worked closely with Perth & Kinross Council and partners from the inception of this project and it is great to see work now progressing well on site. It will provide another high-quality, highly sustainable facility that will serve the community for many years to come.” Due to open Summer 2025, the new school has a triangular design and will be built over three levels. Facilities will include a double-height theatre, breakout spaces, and indoor and outdoor dining. It will be built to Passivhaus standards with a high level of thermal efficiency to meet its low carbon targets.
