GOODBYE 2018…
Dmitry Starostenkov CEO, EvenBet Gaming
What was great about 2018? It’s been a year of progressive highlights for EvenBet Gaming, from fostering some fresh CIS-facing partnerships over the World Cup football in Russia to the launch of our new mobile Poker Clubs app, which has been capitalising on the ramping smartphone adoption rates for gaming in many markets, especially in Asia, allowing club managers to host run private poker communities with their own tournaments and tables for the first time. Perhaps the biggest breakthrough, though, arrived
more recently with the NoLimitCoin launch, fronted by two-time WSOP champion and brand ambassador Johnny Chan. Its revolutionary no-rake functionality allows players to keep their winnings commission- free and is already capturing the combined imaginations on both operators and their customers. Moreover, it’s been immensely rewarding to see the poker vertical reignited with renewed enthusiasm from across the planet.
We look forward to seeing Free-To-Play become as much a part of the industry portfolio as more established channels

What were the main challenges facing the industry in 2018? If necessity is the mother of invention, then opportunity and challenge are two closely- related, if very different twins who took centre stage this past year. For, as many new markets have opened up, stricter worldwide regulation has also come into play – particularly in Europe post-GDPR. Over in the U.S., the repeal of PASPA clearly marks a pivotal moment, but it may well prove a long and winding legislative path too as states reveal their respective hands slowly but surely. In this respect, selecting the right software partner has never been more important (i.e.
securing the most elastic platform) and can make the difference between market traction and finding a new management team.
What are you excited about for 2019? Innovations like NoLimitCoin are vital in propelling the future of online poker and iGaming forward in 2019, with operators looking for greater reach and convenience for end users. EvenBet’s platform is also
constantly evolving to meet the demands of the ever-changing crypto landscape, which means we can accommodate all types of crypto-backed tech into our software, including new and existing coins, tokens and smart contracts. As a forward-thinking and flexible developer, we are ready to tailor our platform cost-effectively to fit new crypto-based formats which come to market. Consequently, with EvenBet, the crypto-currency future is already an accessible reality. Poker players are some of the most intellectually advanced and skilful gaming consumers, always open for fresh technologies and projects. In many ways, these characteristics comprise the target demographic for the igaming industry in 2019.
Any personal New Year resolutions you’re happy to share? I feel predictions and resolutions are for the birds in as much as we can all be blindsided, or pleasantly surprised by fate in either our professional or personal lives. If possible, you should try to retain humility, an open mind. After all, New Year’s Day always signals a fresh start, a new chapter in life waiting to be written. Let’s all write a good one!
