Esta concesión, que ahora comprende a dos naves flotantes se vence a fines de 2019, y no puede ser renovada porque ahora el juego en la ciudad capital argentina está bajo control de la Ciudad de Buenos Aires, y los encargados de llevar adelante las negociaciones por el traspaso del control y de la fiscalización del juego de la Nación a la Ciudad, han empezado a evaluar la estatización de ese centro del juego, o como algunos le llaman, “centro del lucro”.
Según reportes, en función de la restricción constitucional,

Desde Buenos Aires, voceros del gobierno han dicho, que
“todavía no hay nada concretado, pero se evalúa estatizarlo para seguir contando con los fondos”, pues el cierre de los casinos flotantes sería, por ahora, “la alternativa menos deseada”. Especialmente ahora que los impuestos a los casinos han subido del 20 al 30%.
Desde que el control de juegos pasó a manos de la Ciudad de Buenos Aires, la nueva institución creada para estos fines, Lotería de la Ciudad de Buenos Aires Sociedad del Estado (Lotba), tendrá la potestad de control sobre las 6.000 máquinas tragamonedas, y 1.270 agencias de juego que funcionan en territorio porteño.

From Buenos Aires, Government spokesmen have said, “Nothing real has been decided, but the matter of nationalization is under constant scrutiny because of the funds that help support the City.“ Closing the floating casinos would be, for now, “the least desired alternative”, especially now that casinos taxes have increased from 20% to 30%.
Since control of casinos and overall gaming was passed to
the City of Buenos Aires, the executive has created a new institution to supervise control, called Lotería de la Ciudad de Buenos Aires Sociedad del Estado (Lotba), which will have control over the 6,000 slot machines, and 1,270 lottery agencies operating in Buenos Aires territory.
