Premier Modular secures £360m refinancing package to support expansion
Premier Modular has secured a £360m refinancing package designed to support continued growth and investment in its modular construction operations.
The East Yorkshire-based company announced the completion of the refinancing deal in June 2026, comprising a term loan, capital expenditure facility and revolving credit facility. The package has been backed by infrastructure-focused investors and a syndicate of European lenders, reflecting continued confidence in the future potential of the modular construction market.
The funding package provides Premier Modular with additional financial flexibility as demand for offsite construction solutions continues to increase across sectors including education, healthcare, accommodation and commercial development.
The company has established itself as one of the UK’s largest modular building specialists, delivering factory-manufactured solutions designed to provide faster programmes, improved
quality control and reduced disruption compared with traditional construction approaches.
Premier Modular’s latest investment announcement comes at a time when MMC manufacturers are increasingly looking to expand production capacity and strengthen their position within a rapidly changing construction market.
The ability to manufacture buildings within controlled environments has become increasingly attractive to clients seeking greater certainty around cost, programme and quality. Factory-based delivery also allows manufacturers to standardise processes, improve efficiency and reduce material waste.
The refinancing package is expected to support further investment in the company’s operations, helping Premier Modular respond to increasing demand for industrialised construction solutions.
The announcement also highlights the growing confidence among financial institutions in established MMC businesses. Historically, one of the challenges facing the sector has been securing long-term investment due to concerns around scalability and market adoption.
However, increased demand from public sector clients, housing providers and commercial developers has strengthened the case for investment in manufacturing capability.
For the wider MMC sector, Premier Modular’s refinancing represents another sign that offsite construction is becoming increasingly established within the mainstream construction market.
As clients continue to seek solutions that improve delivery timescales while supporting sustainability objectives, manufacturers with established factories and proven delivery models are expected to play an increasingly important role. The company said the refinancing reflected lender confidence in the strength of its business model and the wider growth opportunities available within the UK and European modular construction markets.
The agreement runs from 18 March 2026 until 17 March 2030 and provides national coverage across the UK. MTX secures place on £1bn NHS modular buildings
Healthcare MMC specialist MTX Contracts has secured places across all three lots of a new NHS modular buildings framework worth up to £1 billion, strengthening its position as a key supplier of offsite healthcare facilities.
The appointment sees MTX selected for consultancy services, modular and prefabricated building solutions, and managed services under the NHS Commercial Solutions Modular & Prefabricated Building Solutions Framework. The framework was awarded in November 2025 and is designed to support NHS organisations and wider public sector bodies delivering healthcare infrastructure projects.
MTX was one of only a small number of suppliers appointed across all three lots, allowing the company to provide an end-to-end service covering project development, design, construction and ongoing support.
The framework includes access to modular and prefabricated solutions for healthcare environments, supporting NHS organisations seeking additional clinical capacity, estate improvements and faster routes to delivery.
MTX has delivered a range of healthcare projects using modern methods of construction, including community diagnostic centres, surgical hubs and specialist clinical facilities. The company’s approach combines offsite manufacturing with onsite construction to reduce programme times and minimise disruption to operational healthcare environments.
The appointment comes as NHS organisations continue to explore MMC as a way of increasing capacity while addressing pressures associated with ageing estates and rising demand for healthcare services.
The NHS Commercial Solutions framework provides a route for trusts to access experienced modular suppliers without needing to undertake separate procurement exercises for every project.
For MTX, the appointment reinforces its role within the healthcare construction sector and provides further opportunities to support NHS estate transformation programmes across the UK. The framework demonstrates the continued integration of MMC into mainstream healthcare procurement, with offsite construction increasingly being used to deliver permanent clinical facilities rather than solely temporary accommodation.
