new high-performance hybrid heating system from Hamworthy is helping to reduce
carbon emissions, improve efficiency, and ensure reliable heating for patients and staff at Grantham Health Centre in Lincolnshire. The solution, which was delivered in partnership with contractors Arthur Pollard, combines Hamworthy’s Stratton mk3 wall-hung condensing boilers with a Tyneham 50kW 290HT air source heat pump. This solution, the company explains, provides a resilient, future-ready, system tailored to the demanding requirements of the healthcare sector.
RELIABLE PERFORMANCE ALL YEAR For the project, three ageing gas boilers were replaced with a modern hybrid system designed to maximise efficiency, reduce running costs, and align with strict carbon reduction targets. Using Hamworthy’s Tyneham high temperature heat pump as the primary heat source in milder weather, with Stratton mk3 boilers providing back-up in colder months, the system delivers reliable performance all year round. Supported by a 500L buffer vessel with back up heater and controlled via a Building Management System (BMS), the compact equipment was

seamlessly integrated into the existing heating infrastructure, avoiding invasive internal alterations. The installation was completed in just seven
weeks while the health centre remained operational, with a temporary boiler provided and gas works scheduled over a weekend to
