n just a few weeks, Düsseldorf will once again become the international meeting point for the processing and packaging industry. From
7 to 13 May 2026, interpack will bring together key players from across the entire value chain to explore the technologies, trends and strategies shaping the future. At a time of economic uncertainty and
structural change, interpack offers crucial orientation. “interpack 2026 is more important than ever,” says Director Thomas Dohse. “The industry needs a platform where concrete solutions can be compared and well-founded investment decisions can be made.”
Addressing global challenges The industry is operating in an increasingly complex environment. Population growth, urbanisation and shifting consumer expectations are driving demand for efficient, sustainable processing and packaging solutions. At the same time, companies are under pressure from raw material shortages, regulatory requirements, supply chain risks and a lack of skilled labour. interpack 2026 addresses these challenges
through three central Hot Topics: • Smart Manufacturing: focusing on data- driven, resource-efficient production, including AI, automation and robotics.
• Innovative Materials: highlighting new packaging materials, improved functionality and design-for-recycling concepts.
• Future Skills: exploring how digitalisation and automation are reshaping workforce requirements.
Strong exhibitor presence across all sectors The exhibition spans the full breadth of the industry. In the confectionery and bakery sector, companies such as Aasted, Sollich, Theegarten-

Pactec and SACMI Packaging & Chocolate will present solutions in Halls 1, 3 and 4. For the pharmaceutical and cosmetics
industries, Halls 15 to 17 will feature leading players including IMA Industria Macchine, Marchesini Group and OPTIMA. Food, beverage, consumer and industrial goods processing will be showcased across six halls (5, 6 and 11 to 14), with major exhibitors such as COESIA Group, Duravant, Gerhard Schubert, Ishida, KHS, Krones, MULTIVAC, Syntegon and ULMA Packaging demonstrating innovations in automation, efficiency and sustainability. A key highlight is the packaging materials
segment in Halls 7 to 10, where over 1,000 exhibitors—including BERICAP, Jokey, Metsä, Sappi Europe and SCHÜTZ—underline interpack’s position as the world’s leading platform for packaging materials. Labelling and marking technologies will also be prominently represented.
A truly international platform interpack’s global significance is reflected in its numerous country pavilions. Exhibitors from regions including India, the USA, China, Taiwan, Korea, Turkey and Malaysia—as well as many European countries—will present their innovations in dedicated national showcases, fostering international exchange and collaboration.
Inspiration beyond the exhibition floor A comprehensive supporting programme complements the exhibition. The Spotlight Forum will host expert discussions on current developments and strategic topics, while the Start-up Zone highlights fresh ideas and disruptive approaches. A special highlight is the presentation of the WorldStar Global Packaging Awards. Sustainability remains a key focus, with the
SAVE FOOD initiative addressing food waste through expert talks, awards and project showcases. Additional formats, such as “Women in Packaging,” emphasise diversity and inclusion, while interpack TV delivers live insights from the show floor.
