Fundamentally, Cubo is a functional module comprising
a set of components. The structure is described in terms of schematics, bill of materials (BOM) and PCB layout, along with specifications, electrical connections and other defining attributes, with Cubo’s behaviour defined by sets of keywords and properties. Thus, Cubo can function as a datasheet for each individual component. Taken together, Celus’s offering allows engineers to move seamlessly between micro and macro scales, without getting lost in deluge of information.
Innovation blocker or accelerator? Of course, new innovations can draw criticism: One of the most common objections about automation in design is the reuse of data blocks, where existing ideas are used repetitively, to the detriment of new approaches. T is is a fair point – but, engineers should be trusted to
exercise their creativity to develop the best design. To that end, reusing previous work is essential to free up valuable time that can be used to create something new. In other words, we need to encourage further optimisations and variations on a theme, regardless of the reuse. For example, in the automotive industry, the use of existing modules does not put the whole development process of new models on hold.
Notably, since there are many steps involved in design,
engineers regularly rely on tried-and-tested components and reference designs to meet deadlines. In any design, pressures on innovation and time to market have always been developers’ biggest opponents. Celus and its proprietary solutions relieve these pressures
by enabling users to keep track of their tasks and work in a structured manner, with vast component libraries and innumerable design options at their fi ngertips. Countless possibilities become open because engineers don’t have to reinvent the wheel. For example, current component shortages have disrupted

Team leaders can then use more junior engineers to complete projects and tasks, freeing up time for senior developers to drive innovation.
