PREVIEW: SBC SUMMIT

speakers and we’ve got a big conference team here putting that together. They work really hard all year to get the biggest speaker lineup you can get from sports to the big CEOs in gaming, covering all of gaming really, everything’s covered on our conference programme.

GIO: Why do you consider Lisbon is the best venue for the event? PM: One it offers, the infrastructure that we need. So, we’ve got two main venues, we use the whole city probably, we’ve got stuff on everywhere. The two main venues that we use are the FIL, which is the exhibition centre and then the MEO Arena which is right next door, so they’re side by side.

In FIL you’ve got one of the major exhibition centres in Europe where it’s got space, it’s got four pavilions that we jam-packed full of exhibitors, it’s got room for conference, it’s got room for networking, we’ve put so much into the things like the food festival and things like that, all these tents that we build around the venue to give us extra space.

And then the MEO Arena next door is one of the largest indoor arenas in Europe, so it’s just a perfect space to complement. It allows us to do our super stage where we can host somebody like Michael Jordan and other celebrities and we use the MEO for the awards, so it allows us for massive awards, we’ve got the stage there already, so it really works well.

GIO SEPTEMBER 2026 11

Lisbon’s a major capital city but it’s not a massive city, it’s not like, the London traffic, let’s put it like that way, it doesn’t take you two hours to get across town, you can get around Lisbon fairly easily, even from the airport to the FIL is like ten minutes, so if you land in the morning you can be at the show in ten minutes from the Lisbon airport and then it’s another 15 minutes into the centre of town, it’s really convenient like that.

GIO: Obviously everyone’s there to work but there’s a lot of fun stuff going on, a lot of social events, networking and some big parties too, what can you tell us about that? PM: There’s so much going on in Lisbon and lots of people are doing their own things and they’ll do some amazing gatherings, amazing parties for sure, and we think we can offer something even better or just as good in what we’re doing.
