What to expect at SBC Summit 2026
Ahead of the SBC Summit on 29 September to 1 October in Lisbon, we spoke to Event Director, Paul Mills to find out what to expect, what’s new and how to get the best out of the event.
GIO: The first question is why should people attend the SBC Summit? PM: We’re full speed ahead at SBC now, with not long to go until the show. I was in the office this morning and it was busy and there’s lots happening, it’s an exciting time for sure for everyone who’s working there, you can feel it
coming together. I guess the first reason why people should attend is it’s a major industry gathering for everyone in the iGaming industry. It’s got real scale in it now, the show is growing exponentially over the last three years since we moved to Lisbon and it keeps growing, especially in audience. We’re expecting 40,000 registrations. That’s from the operators, affiliates, obviously the major suppliers, the regulators are there, and then it’s the kind of the industries that fit with gaming, sports, tech, fintech, you know everyone under that one roof is gathering there.
I think it’ll be a great place to do business as well, that’s what it’s about ultimately, creating the right environment for these people, they’re going to enjoy themselves, they’re going to have a great experience but also they’re going to do business, make new contacts, make new friends,
meet up with old colleagues, everything that you want in a kind of major event, we’re going to deliver that in Lisbon.
It’s international too, last year we had 150 countries represented, that’s not going to go down, it’s only going to go up, so it’s basically the whole world is there. We’ve got a special focus on jurisdictions like Africa this year, we’ve got the Africa Gaming Forum, that’s been really well received, lots of support from the different African associations, the countries, the regulators there and the operators that are coming along. We have a big, big keynote in Michael Jordan too, so it’s someone that you won’t hear anywhere else, this is exclusive, the only place you can get that is at SBC Summit, and not just Jordan, he’s speaking with Carsten Koerl and Jason Robbins, the CEOs of Sport Radar and DraftKings, there’s also eight other stages, 600
