One of the things that makes iGaming such an interesting industry to cover is the sheer pace of change. There is always a new technology, idea or business model emerging – and, just as importantly, plenty of debate about where the industry should be heading next. That mix is refl ected particularly well in this issue.
Artifi cial intelligence continues to be one of the biggest talking points across the sector, but attention is increasingly shifting from what AI might do, to how it’s already being put to work. Our look at the latest AI-based sportsbook solutions explores how technology is helping operators broaden their offering, create new betting experiences and respond more quickly to changing player expectations.
People, of course, remain every bit as important as technology. This month, we speak to Rosalind Wade, Founder & CEO of Winna Media, about the ‘HOT100’ and what’s made the event such an enduring fi xture in the iGaming calendar. Beyond recognising individual achievement, it provides an opportunity to celebrate the personalities and talent helping to shape the industry.
Responsibility is another important theme. Simon Westbury discusses 1xCare, the new not-for- profi t initiative from 1xBet designed to support responsible gambling and encourage a more collaborative approach to player protection. As the industry continues to grow, initiatives that put sustainability and responsibility alongside commercial success will become increasingly signifi cant.
We also turn our attention to the affi liate sector with Makeberry Affi liates, looking at another part of the iGaming ecosystem that continues to develop alongside operators and suppliers.
Technology, people, responsibility and partnerships: four very different subjects, but together they offer a useful snapshot of an industry that rarely stands still.
I hope you enjoy the issue. Neil Mead, Editor GIO
