ombilift introduced its first pedestrian stacker truck around 10 years ago as a safer solution for customers handling products in narrow aisles whilst operating in areas with a high level of footfall. There are now numerous choices in Combilift’s pedestrian range – the Combi-WR reach stacker, the Combi-CS counterbalance stacker and the Combi-PPT powered pallet truck for example. The DIY sector was one of the first to welcome this new concept, but these models are now a regular sight across diverse industries, not least due to their ability to handle palletised as well as long loads in confined areas for space saving storage. These “walkie” models naturally operate at slower speeds compared to motorised ride-on forklifts, and operators benefit from a heightened awareness of their immediate environment so this enhances safety for everyone in the trucks’ vicinity.
UNIQUE PATENTED TILLER ARM The unique, patented multi-position tiller arm is a feature common to all Combilift pedestrian models. It ensures maximum safety for the operator and other personnel who may be in the area, whilst enabling productive picking and placing of products. The tiller arm can be turned to the left or right of the truck and enables push button rotation of the rear wheel parallel to the chassis and back again. It allows the operator to remain in the safest possible position when working in narrow aisles - at the side of the unit rather than at the rear as is the case with other pedestrian trucks. This reduces the risk of the operator being crushed or trapped between the truck and the racking.
GREEN ELECTRIC POWER
Depending on the specific model, Combilift walkie trucks can work in aisles as narrow as 2.21m, offer lift heights of up to 6.6m and have lift capacities ranging from 1,000kg upwards. Operator-friendly features include AC electronic power steering and fingertip controls for smooth and effortless handling of even the longest and bulkiest loads, and a monitor display unit fitted on the tiller arm.
